Executive Summary

Prioritisation of areas for recovery of native vegetation in the Pantanal

Seeking to base public policies and encourage conservation and restoration actions in order to promote integrated landscape management, IIS used PLANGEA modeling to identify priority areas for the recovery of native vegetation in the Pantanal, represented by the Upper Paraguay Basin. The multi-criteria spatial prioritisation resulted in different recovery scenarios considering synergy relationships and trade-offs. Only available in Portuguese.

Final Report on priority areas for recovery in the Caatinga, Pampa and Pantanal

Seeking to support public policies and encourage ecological recovery actions to promote integrated landscape management, IIS identified priority areas for the recovery of native vegetation in the Caatinga, Pampa and Pantanal (represented by the Brazilian portion of the Upper Paraguay Basin), through a systematic spatial planning approach that uses multi-criteria spatial prioritisation (PLANGEA modeling). This approach allowed simulating and comparing different scenarios, quantifying costs and benefits related to different objectives, identifying trade-offs and synergies between scenarios, and identifying more cost-effective solutions. Only available in Portuguese.
